WILL MAKE THIS A REALITY FOR YOU

In the 21st century, medical researchers have been developing technologies to reverse aging in humans, and since 2015, the pace of this research has exploded. In several short years, some of these rejuvenation technologies will enter human clinical trials, and at that point it will become clear to most of the people of the world that human, full-body rejuvenation is likely less than 25 years away from becoming a reality.

A New Understanding of Aging

Over the past several decades, researchers have come to understand that aging is a lethal synergy of several types of structural and physiological damage, all of which are the by-products of normal biological metabolism. In fact, such damage is the by-product of any physical process (such as the wear on your car when it runs).

This damage accelerates and accumulates over one’s lifetime until it exceeds the body’s ability to repair it, at which point age-related illnesses become manifest.

Passionate Researchers with a New, Winning Strategy

Dr. De Grey

Dr. Aubrey de Grey, Chief Science Officer and Co-founder of SENS Research Foundation, and author of the book “Ending Aging”, is possibly the foremost authority on our best strategy for human, full-body rejuvenation. According to Dr. De Grey and many other pioneers of medical rejuvenation …

Maintenance: Repair Damage Already Created but Before Illness

Gerontologists try to stop metabolism from causing damage, but our metabolism is so complex to understand, that Gerontologists have completely failed in their attempts.

Geriatric doctors try to treat age-related illnesses caused by decades of accumulated damage, but by then the damage is a runaway cascade, and their effort resembles a game of whack-a-mole.

But if we let our metabolism go ahead and create the damage, and then follow maintenance measures to repair the damage before it becomes life-threatening …

Maintenance: Damage Categories and Maintenance Approaches

Then luckily we find that the damage falls nicely into just a handful of different categories, all of which can be feasibly addressed by various biomedical technologies that are under development RIGHT NOW.

In this YouTube video, Dr. De Grey gives one of his many compelling presentations of this strategy.

1

Immediately

Step Away from the Edge of the Cliff:

Address Acute Mortality Risks

This will certainly sound like simple, common sense, but you first must quickly and aggressively take measures to protect yourself against anything that could suddenly kill you within the next few months.

Acute, non-medical threats are limitless, but some common ones include:

  • Suicide (work with a licensed healthcare practitioner!)
  • Homicide
  • Drug overdose / reactions (work with a licensed healthcare practitioner!)
  • Automobile accidents
  • Falls

Acute, medical threats are also limitless, but most commonly come in the form of infectious diseases, such as:

  • COVID-19
  • Influenza
  • Other viral infections
  • Bacterial infections

You should immediately and aggressively engage your doctor or other licensed healthcare practitioner for planning appropriate protection against suicide, drug overdose / reactions, and infectious diseases.

Within the Next Year

Hedge Your Bets:

Arrange for Cryopreservation

At best guess, the first whole-body rejuvenation treatments will be come around the year 2040. They may come later, but unlikely sooner.

You’ll need to be alive at that point, and in a body that is at least minimally capable of keeping you that way. And that’s the gamble. If you have a life-threatening illness now, or because of age, are at higher risk of developing one before 2040, you might consider a Plan B to hedge your bets.

Cryopeservation is a technology that, upon your death, places your body in stasis, so that no further bodily decomposition occurs. A body so preserved will remain indefinitely in the exact state that it was in, shortly after death.

The idea is to wait for medical technology to catch up and develop a treatment for whatever killed you. You would then be “revived” from cryopreservation, and the appropriate new treatment would be quickly administered to restore your health.

While there are many detractors, the science is real. That having been said, the technology is as yet unproven: no human has been revived from cryopreservation yet, and there hasn’t even yet been an attempt. But the science is improving by the year.

Several companies offer such cryopreservation services, and Second Youth will eventually provide a liaison to these.

FOR THE INDEFINITE FUTURE

Slow Your Slide & Buy Time:

Live a Longevity Lifestyle

Your lifestyle will either add – or subtract – several years of your health-span and longevity. So with the goal of maximizing your chance of surviving until whole-body rejuvenation becomes available, it’s worth it to put effort into optimizing your lifestyle.

The specific sub-goals are to:

  • Stave off age-related disease by
    • Minimizing the damage caused by normal metabolism
    • Optimizing the body’s natural repair of that damage
  • When age-related diseases do occur, detect them early and address them with the best available medical care

You have complete control over several areas of focus of your lifestyle

Health Monitoring

Step 1 in your Rejuvenation Road-Map was to immediately and aggressively address imminent threats to your life. For Step 3 (Lifestyle), you want to stay on top of your health and address any issues as soon as possible.

You must make – and follow – a commitment to

  • Get regular checkups with your licensed healthcare practitioners
  • Pay regular attention to your health
  • Commit to yourself to aggressively address health concerns with your healthcare practitioner, rather than ignoring those concerns

Sleep

A great deal of science points to the importance to your health and longevity of both the quantity and the quality of your sleep. Inadequate sleep has been connected to shorter health-span, physiological problems, and even an increased risk of dementia.

Types of fitness targeted by exercise include

  • “Sleep hygiene” practices
  • Medical treatments for sleep disorders
  • Devices for monitoring your sleep and helping you “hack” it

Diet

It’s important to optimize your diet, since it has a tremendous impact on your health-span. The self-help diet industry is vast, and popular diets include plant-based, paleo, and many others.

You should educate yourself on nutrition and the science behind various diets, according to your time available for learning.

Also, you should be aware that there are various dietary supplements that have varying degrees of scientific support for promoting longevity.

Finally, consult your licensed healthcare practitioners about which diets and dietary supplements are safe and effective for you, based on your individual health considerations.

Social Engagement

A body of scientific evidence demonstrates that social engagement – or the lack thereof – has a PROFOUND effect on your longevity. If you want to live longer and more healthy, cultivate relationships with a circle of friends.

Exercise

Exercise – or the lack thereof – affects both your physical and mental health, and physical and mental fitness. As with diet, the fitness/exercise industry is vast.

Types of fitness targeted by exercise include

  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Muscular fitness
  • Flexibility

As with diet, you should educate yourself on principles of exercise and fitness, according to your available time for learning, and you should consult your licensed healthcare practitioners about which types of exercise are safe and effective for you, based on your individual health considerations.

Meditation

There are various types of meditation: Mindfulness, Transcendental, Zen, etc. For some type of meditation, there is ample scientific evidence that meditation improves physical health (by altering the stress response) and mental health, and promotes longevity.

You should explore meditation and select the types of meditation that most appeal to you.

FUnctional / Alternative Medicine

Interventional Medicine (the type that’s provided by most primary care doctors) is best and does an amazing job at diagnosing and treating illness that arise acute.

Functional Medicine focuses on addressing chronic illnesses, proactive prevention of illness, and optimizing medical care for health-span and longevity.

Some people enjoy benefit from Alternative Medicine, which generally refers to medicine that’s based on paradigms for investigation other than the Scientific Method. One popular genre of Alternative Medicine is Eastern Medicine

For the purpose of promoting your longevity, in addition to the aforementioned engagements with your Interventional Medicine healthcare practitioners, you might want to consider researching Functional Medicine and establishing a relationship with a Functional Medicine doctor.

Hormesis

Hormesis is the body’s response to stressors that are low enough in intensity to not cause harm to the body, but significant enough to trigger a beneficial adaptive change. You can trigger longevity-promoting hormesis in many ways, including exposing yourself to cold, engaging in high-intensity interval training, and eating plenty of green vegetables (because green vegetables actually contain low levels of some phytotoxins that your body learns to tolerate).

OVER THE NEXT 5 – 10 YEARS

Reserve Priority Seating:

Build a Rejuvenation Fund

Eventually, human, whole-body rejuvenation will enjoy widespread availability.

And considering how much money will be saved by the drastic reduction in age-related illnesses, there will be an economic incentive to offer whole-body rejuvenation at a low cost.

However, since early offerings of these treatments will likely not be covered by medical insurance initially, if YOU want to be an early adopter, you should start building a nest egg to pay for early access out-of-pocket.

YR 2026 – YR 2045

Jump on a Rocket ASAP:

Seek the First Available, Safe, and Effective Treatments

Dr. Aubrey de Grey has “guestimated” a 50% likelihood that by 2038, available treatments might give you a 30-year rejuvenation. It’s even possible that some treatments conferring more modest benefits might even be available earlier.

Taking a slightly more conservative date of 2045, if you are a healthy 85-years-old then, that treatment would leave you biologically as a 55-year-old.

While many of us might not consider 55 years old as the picture of youth, this buys you enough time to live until the next round of rejuvenation treatments, which will come more quickly and produce even better effects.

This is the concept that Dr. De Grey calls “Longevity Escape Velocity” – you take advantage of any safe and effective rejuvenation technologies as soon as they’re available, so as to stay alive while the treatments improve.

The eventual, long-term goal is that you would need only infrequent treatments, and those treatments would maintain you indefinitely at your absolute prime, youthful biological age.
