Second Youth Family Theater is non-profit organization founded in 1991 in an effort to create original high quality theatre accessible to ALL ages.

It is the mission of Second Youth to produce original and established works for family audiences incorporating drama, comedy, musical theatre, puppetry and dance with the highest artistic quality and cultural diversity. Second Youth is dedicated to building long-term relationships with audiences through exceptional production and education.

Second Youth is dedicated to providing artists and audiences the opportunity to experience the cultures of the world through exploration, expression, imagination, innovation and education in the performing arts. It is our vision that these shared experiences cross the boundaries of age, race, sex and creed fostering greater understanding and unity in our society. We also believe that performing arts as an integral part of a child's education is imperative to a healthy well balanced and vital society. To this end we engage new artists, new works, new ideas and collaborations, and new audiences from all walks of life and all ages. It is our core belief that people who are free to explore and share their creative passion live lives of the highest quality.

Through thoughtful and careful artistic choices, we seek to inspire discussion and sharing of ideas among people of all ages and backgrounds. We continue to create and develop works that uphold the artistic standard this Company has established in our community.

Since 1991, our company of artists, have been recognized for artistic merit and excellence in theatre by our peers, receiving over 50 awards and nominations for Outstanding Work in Theater from the Austin Circle of Theaters and the Austin Critics Table.
