FOR: Ages 17 and younger

Second Youth Family Theatre will select a winner from the children's category and will have an opportunity to workshop their original work with a published playwright!  The winner will also obtain season tickets to the Second Youth 09-10 season and will receive free admission to the 2010 Summer Camp. Below are the playwriting contest rules and regulations:

1.  Submissions must be the original work of the playwright, and never previously produced. 

2.  Submissions can be based on stories or fairy tales currently considered public domain, or an original work of the playwright.  The sky is the limit on your creativity!

3. Plays must not exceed a running time of one hour, fifteen minutes, and must be appropriate for children of all ages. 

4.  Submissions must be postmarked no later than September 1st, 2009, in order to be considered for competition. No exceptions will be made. 

5.  All submissions will be reviewed by the SYFT Annual Playwriting Committee, and the committee's decision of the winner, is final.

All interested parties must fill out the play submission form, and submit a $25 non-refundable entry fee (personal check or cashier's check), along with a printed copy of your script to:
